Nokia N82 Optical Zoom and Tripod Mount Add-ons

Using the Nokia N82 for casual shots is fine, but what about for some hardcore photography? Apparently there are suppliers trying to fill in the void by supplying the 2 add-ons Nokia N82 users are craving for - a 6X optical zoom lens and a tripod mount. However, even with optical lens and a tripod, it probably remains no match for a dedicated digital camera.




A camera phone was never meant to be a complete substitute for a digital camera, but with this kit the Nokia N82 is getting closer to that aim. Still, the size of the body and the inconvenience to the user will definitely put off all except the most hardcore photography lovers.

The above is a unit on eBay Malaysia going for 83 Malaysian Ringgits (or US$26); its a real shame that the seller is only shipping within Malaysia. Any readers in Malaysia willing to give this kit a try?

    This is definitely an interesting-looking gadget! Can't wait for it to be available in North America. I have my eyes set on the tripod more though. Really silly that you can't make the N82 stand on its side...Oh well.

    Well, i'd been looking for a few models of this camera phone zoom lenses. the one shown is specially made for n82 but not for people that don't like crystal case. if you checkout the iphone version of this crystal case and lense it is more wierd than this.     this one is cheaper but also so far only available in Malaysia. well, don't worry cause it can't fit on n82 as n82 is too long for it to hold. that's all that i had been search for. can't wait for my telescope to arrive from HK and have an extreme test on it.

    did you buy one that uses a case to mount the telescope?

    i also found a "clamp"-variant and wonder which one is better..
    an advantage of the clamp could be that it also fits on other phones than only the n82..

    any suggestions or experiences?

    N82 can stand on the side. found a neet trick on youtube. use the SD lid as a leg.(pull it up and twist it the way the phone normally would fall...)
