Here's a bit of good news for the US users of the Nokia N82 - Skyfire, an alternative browser for the WM platform, has now opened up its beta program for S60 users. The only requirement is that you need to have a US number (I have no idea why, given that the Nokia presence in the US is so insignificant compared to Europe and Asia); so namely I'm quite pissed off I can't sign up for the beta program.

Skyfire is a competing browser to Opera Mobile and the defualt S60 browser. It's one of the most anticipated browsers as "...supports the same web technologies that PC browsers support, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, Ajax, QuickTime, Java, Windows Media, and more."
